First and foremost I make art that appeals to my sense of aesthetics. I believe that I am also sending a message through the subtleties of the curves and the overall shapes. I find metal to be such an interesting and amazing material to work with. On the one hand it is strong, and unforgiving, yet reigning it into to something visually pleasing is an exciting challenge.
Designing and creating represents freedom. Freedom to me, means freedom to express myself, and having the strength to explore new ideas and make them happen.
Every thing I create is a piece of art, whether it be a coffee table or a wall sculptor. Making my pieces look like solid heavy immoveable objects is and was the original inspiration. Another design element that is important to me, is the use of materials in their rawest forms possible. When adding another element to the metal, I use reclaimed wood when available or sustainable bamboo.
